Privacy Policy

Brevity is a journaling app. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to what you write.

The short version

Brevity does not collect, transmit, or have access to your journal entries, mood tags, or letters. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind built into the app.

Where your data lives

Everything you write is stored locally on your device in a private database. If you turn on iCloud Sync, your entries are copied to a private folder inside your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud service, so your journal can appear on your other devices. We do not operate any server, and we never receive, see, or store a copy of your entries ourselves.

Device permissions

Brevity may ask for the following permissions, each used only for the stated purpose:

• Notifications — to show a local daily reminder and to reveal "Letter to Future Self" messages on their chosen date. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device.
• Face ID / passcode — to lock the app so only you can open it. Authentication is handled by iOS itself; Brevity never sees your biometric data.

Third parties

Brevity does not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. No data about you or your usage is shared with anyone, because none is collected in the first place.

Children's privacy

Brevity does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future feature introduces optional cloud sync outside of iCloud — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
